If you own a photo or video camera, you are invited to contribute as photojournalist to an online project launched last month by Yahoo and Reuters. “You Witness News” is a website where you can upload your own photos and videos, for further publishing.

The idea is not new, many press agencies use amateur footage, especially for natural catastrophes or terrorist attacks. The news is that You Witness News is the first site where amateur journalists can publish their materials. If you decide to upload materials on their site, be aware that you won’t get paid for that, unless Reuters selects your materials for publishing.
